Google Chrome For Android May Notify Users of Product Price Drops

April 27, 2021 by Dinesh Goswami Leave a Comment

Buckle up, online shoppers, because you’re in for a surprise from Google in the form of a new feature! Online shoppers are constantly on the hunt for deals and discounts on several products and are thirsty for information on price drops. An upcoming Google Chrome feature might aid you in this endeavor.

Smart Droid reports that Chrome for Android (version 90) will have a price monitoring function that notifies users when prices fall. Quite a few news sources indicate that the functionality is not yet accessible to all users.

A report by 9to5 Google briefs on how to make use of this feature. The report states that it’s not as easy as adding a web page or product to a list. The feature functions by tracking the price of a product in one of your open tabs. If the feature is enabled, Chrome scans for price reductions if the user has the tab with the product open.

Users will receive a prompt if the price drops, either in the notification panel or when they open Chrome. This feature will most likely not be available on computers. The Chrome app for iOS may get this feature in the near future with a new update.
