“Recently Deleted” is a new feature by Instagram and is available for almost all global users. With the help of this feature, you can restore any of your deleted photos, reels, videos, stories, IGTV videos.
Steps to restore deleted items
You can follow the given steps to bring back any deleted posts:
- Open the Instagram app and navigate to your profile, and then to “settings”.
- Tap on the “Account” option.
- Under account, there will be an option called “Recently Deleted,” where you can see your recently deleted posts.
- From the posts that you can see, tap on the one you would like to restore and select the “restore” option.
Deleted posts are available for viewing and restoration for 30 days. After 30 days have passed, you won’t be able to access them using any method. At the time of writing this article, this feature has not been rolled out for all Instagram users. Gradually, it will be available for all Instagram account holders.
The mechanism behind recovering posts on Instagram
Before you delete any of your posts on Instagram, it will show you a disclaimer that you now have the option of recovering these videos, photos, IGTV stories, reels, and stories within 30 days after you have deleted them. After 30 days are over, you no longer can recover them, and Instagram will permanently delete them from the archive.
