iPhone users will be getting two new WhatsApp features with the latest update that was recently released. The latest update— version 2.21.71 allows iPhone users to view photos and media in chat better without opening them. WhatsApp for iOS will now have bigger and better previews for images than the earlier smaller square preview. Therefore, iPhone users can now view pictures better in WhatsApp chat with the new update without opening them.
The other feature that has been introduced is the scope for disappearing messages. Disappearing messages allow the sender to send messages that automatically get deleted after seven days. With the new update, all group members can change the settings of disappearing messages within the group. Earlier, only group admins were allowed to make such changes. However, with the new update, that privilege is now open for all the members. Also, group admins will now have somewhat better control of the group with the ‘Edit Group Info’ option.
In the meantime, WhatsApp is trying to reduce the disappearing time for these messages— from 7 days to 24 hours. Note that disappearing messages will get deleted if the recipient does not open the chat. However, the message would be visible in the notification. It may also remain in the quoted form if the message was replied to.
