What is Google Bard? Here’s everything you need to know

April 1, 2023 by Nitin Maheta Leave a Comment

Google-Bard

Google recently unveiled an experimental conversational AI chat service called Bard. This new service functions similarly to ChatGPT, but with the primary difference being that it pulls information from the web. This means that the responses provided by Bard will be fresh and of high quality, as it draws on all the information available on the internet.

Bard is powered by Google’s Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA), which is built on Transformer, Google’s neural network architecture. LaMDA was unveiled two years ago and was developed specifically for dialogue applications. This is in contrast to most AI chatbots, including ChatGPT and Bing Chat, which use an LLM in the GPT series.

What sets Bard apart is that it uses a lightweight model version of LaMDA, which requires less computing power and can be scaled to more users. This enables Google to roll out Bard to limited users in the US and UK on a waitlist basis, starting from March 21, 2023. The waitlist will allow Google to collect early user feedback and improve the AI chatbot further.

To get on the Bard waitlist, all you need to do is visit the homepage, sign in to your Google account, and accept the terms and conditions. It’s that simple!

It’s worth noting that Bard is an experimental chat service, so it’s not perfect yet. However, Google hopes that by drawing on the vast knowledge available on the internet and using LaMDA’s advanced dialogue capabilities, Bard will become a more intelligent and helpful chatbot in the future.

In terms of how Bard works, it uses natural language processing to understand and respond to user queries. It can handle a wide range of topics and conversations, and it’s designed to provide human-like responses that feel natural and engaging. By pulling information from the web, Bard can also provide up-to-date information on any topic and respond to a variety of queries.

Google Bard is an exciting new development in the field of conversational AI chat services. While it’s still in the experimental phase, it has the potential to become a powerful tool for answering queries, providing information, and engaging with users. If you’re interested in trying out Bard, visit the homepage and sign up for the waitlist. Who knows? You may be one of the lucky users to get early access to this new chatbot!
