Have you ever wanted to play Whatsapp voice messages at a faster speed to get over with listening to long messages? Here is good news for you! According to reports, Whatsapp has begun pushing out support for various playback speeds for voice messages to its Android beta users.

WABetalnfo, a website that monitors the upcoming updates and modifications of Whatsapp, discovered this new feature. WABetalnfo identified this feature in March in the Android beta version 2.21.60.11 of Whatsapp. This functionality is now available in the WhatsApp beta 2.21.9.4 release for Android.

By merely playing a voice message, Android beta users of WhatsApp can determine whether or not this functionality is activated for them. They would be able to see a playback speed icon if this functionality has been activated for them. Apart from being able to play audio messages at normal 1X speed, Whatsapp users can now play audio files at 1.5X or 2X speeds.

The functionality is only limited to WhatsApp Android beta users as of now. It is anticipated to be rolled out to non-beta users shortly. Additionally, iOS users will be getting updates for the same in the near future.
