YouTube doesn’t release updates frequently, but when they do, they introduce significant changes. YouTube has released a new update with options for streaming videos. These new options would provide viewers with more flexibility when it comes to the resolution in which they want to watch the video.
YouTube will now offer four options to the viewers as part of the new update:
1. Auto (recommended)
The default option is ‘Auto,’ which adjusts the streaming quality according to the bandwidth speed.
2. Higher picture quality
This option streams videos at a higher resolution and hence consumes a more uncertain amount of data.
3. Data saver
This option is the exact opposite of the former in that it streams videos in lower resolution hence consuming fewer data.
4. Advanced
This option gives you the freedom to choose the resolution at which you want to stream the video. You can choose up to 4K resolution here, but this will only be available if your device supports it.
Apart from these four options, YouTube also provides a link for you to set your default streaming quality for all videos. Regardless of the default settings, users would be able to choose a different video playback resolution for each video.
